Dim Sum

Dim sum is literally translated "to touch your heart." Most people think of dim sum as "small plates" but it does not necessarily mean appetizers. It is about the same idea as Spanish tapas. Small portions of meals or appetizer plates are served, and they keep coming. It's a great way to sample all different kinds of flavors within a cuisine. Dim sum can mean everything from egg rolls to dumplings to steamed meatballs to mango pudding. In restaurants, dim sum menus can go on for days. When you're throwing a dim sum party, go crazy and mix everything up. Just have plenty of sauces out to experiment with. That's half the fun.
